Over 500 runners from 21 public and private high schools from throughout New Jersey gathered with RV alumni and the public on a sunny Saturday morning on September 23rd at the RV Eastampton Sports Complex to launch the Ray Hoagland RV Cross-Country Challenge. Standing beneath the finish line archway flanked by RV runners, Athletic Director, Tony Lotierzo introduced Ray Hoagland as our first cross-country coach who was an RV teacher from 1948-1974 and served as Athletic Director from 1958-1983. Ray had 198 wins and 38 losses as cross-country coach with 12 league/county championships and 1 state championship and 253 wins and 30 losses including 18 county/league championships and 4 SJ championships as track coach over his 20 -year career. He was honored with the Burlington County, South Jersey, and State Coaches Awards-of-the-Year in addition to being inducted into the Burlington County Track Coaches and RV Halls of Fame. One RV alumni coached by Ray Hoagland described him as "a mentor and a  father-figure who could bring out your potential as a person and as a runner. That is what made him a winner on and off the field."  The event was organized by RV coaches Ed Moore and Matt Ciociola with Athletic Director Tony Lotierzo.

Kelsi WorrellCongratulations to Kelsi Worrell, who helped Team USA at the 2017 FINA World Championships to a new American record in the 4x00 freestyle relay. On day two, Worrell followed up with a 2nd Worlds medal, bronze, in the 100m butterfly, swimming a new personal best.In the 50m butterfly final, Worrell missed the podium, but broke the American record. In the 2016 Rio Olympics, Kelsi swam to a ninth place finish in the 100m fly, just missing the Championship Heat, but came back in the 4x100m medley relay, to help the USA win the gold medal. VisIon 2020: Strategic Plan

The Vision 2020 Strategic Planning steering committee involved a diverse group of thirty-five RVRHS stakeholders including alumni, students, community leaders, Board of Education members, faculty, staff, and administrators. The steering committee utilized the data and feedback collected during several community engagement sessions held during fall 2016 to create the mission, core values, goals, and strategies that will guide the district through the year 2020 and beyond. The foundation of the strategic plan was adopted by the Board of Education on February 28, 2017. During March, 2017 action team leaders were chosen for each of the four strategies developed by the steering committee.

After three months of extensive research and discussion, the action team leaders presented twenty-two action plans to the original steering committee and the Board of Education. On June 27, 2017, the Board of Education approved twenty-one of the action plans supporting the four strategies of the plan. Five commitments were also adopted that illustrate the promise to implement measures as appropriate that will achieve our mission for the RV students and all stakeholders.

Although ambitious and challenging, Vision 2020 is the district's commitment to making a long-term, collective investment in our students and their future. The level of change detailed in this plan requires passion and collaboration among alumni, parents, students, staff, and the community that will improve the lives of students and families. We look forward to your ongoing support and participation as we start this journey.
